Our Data Centre
The Digital Delta's DC1 is a 1000sqm facility, of which Phase 1 has been Uptime Institute Tier III certified, with resilient power, intelligent cooling, and a safe haven for your data
Our facility is being built on a 7,000 square metre piece of land within the BIH Science and Technology Park in Gaborone, and will be made up of two (2) floors of 500 square metre each, to facilitate efficient use of available space and the segregation of customers. The building will be equipped with redundant electrical and mechanical services, which will meet and exceed the Tier III standard.
Technical support staff will be housed on site to ensure continuous operations of the facility and ensure timeous reaction to any issues which may arise.
The World of Business is Changing
We live in a world that is growing more connected, more mobile, more digital. In-house Data Centres are no longer the optimum locations for public and corporate data. Digital content and services, and the clouds they exist in, need to draw closer to the people that use them. Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) within multi-tenanted, vendor-neutral colocation facilities are needed to facilitate the network efficiencies required to make that happen. To grow the Botswana economy, a fast and efficient ICT infrastructure is needed..
How will the Data Centre benefit your business?
- Access to a Tier III environment few can afford to build for themselves.
- World class, SLA supported power, cooling, fire suppression and connectivity. - High security (physical and network)
- High level of security for the company’s sensitive information - User Experience (at the junction of BoFiNet fibre network and international connectivity)
- Maintenance is taken care of by certified data centre management professionals.
- Lower requirement for in-house staff with DC facilities management skills - Your server environment becomes an Opex item in your budget
- If you have your own AS Number and IP range, you can peer at the IXP.
- A greater degree of choice and flexibility in terms of connectivity and service from other service providers represented in the data centre.
- Opportunities to innovate using services offered by Managed Service Providers (MSPs) .
- (Hosted IP Telephony, Virtual Firewalls, Software Defined Networks, Big Data, Internet of Things, etc)
Who will the Data Centre Benefit?
1. Internet Service Providers and Managed Services Providers
2. Any Enterprise that:
- Uses digital channels to engage with customers, suppliers and business partners
- Has an increasingly mobile, wireless-first staff and customer/user base
- Experiences growing costs on last mile links and Internet traffic
- Needs to reduce Wide Area Network costs while increasing performance and reliability
- Needs to embrace a hybrid cloud strategy
- Needs to improve application and services resilience and uptime
- Is unsure of their growth requirements – no need to over capitalise
